Stonetavern is World of Warcraft 1.12, kept exactly as it was — no rate changes, no custom content, no shop, ever. It's run for the love of the game, free for everyone, by people who answer to the players and not to a balance sheet. We'd rather stay small and honest than grow loud and broken.
What it is: a museum-grade, x1 blizzlike Vanilla 1.12 realm for the EU. No transmog, no LFG tool, no Vanilla+, no seasonal wipe. Only invisible bugfixes and small account-side comfort. Content opens on a slow, fair schedule from Molten Core through Naxxramas — roughly a tier every couple of months — then an era realm and a fresh start.
Nothing is for sale. No shop, no donations, no Patreon, no "supporter" tier. There is no money in the system to begin with — so no one buys an advantage, and the failure modes that kill other private servers (donation scandals, a quiet sale, staff dealing gold) are not forbidden here, they're structurally impossible.
Bots get nothing. Suspicious activity is watched around the clock, but a human makes every single ban — no account is ever lost to an automatic decision. The ban-wave numbers and any operational change are posted publicly every month, and kept on the forum where you can search them. One account per person, no multiboxing in combat: the people next to you, the auction house, the /who list — all real.
A level field. Staff have no in-game advantage. No GM gear, no GM gold, no insider economy. You know who keeps the house, and the keeper plays by the same rules as the regulars.
Easy to walk in: a ready-to-play client to download, plus a browser of tested, blizzlike-safe addons — nothing that changes the game, nothing that'll hurt your machine. Discord is where you talk; the forum is where things are kept.
Honest about the end: if Blizzard tells us to stop, we stop within the day, say so publicly, and provide a best-effort export of your character. No successor, no "donate to save the server". We never pretend we're forever — we're built to last, and honest that nothing does.
